Obituary of Doris Bentley

Doris R. McCamey Bentley, age 89, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, November 21, 2014, following a brief illness. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother and a caring and beloved grandmother. Doris was born in Erie on June 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Floyd and Julia Ann Hector McCamey. Doris graduated from Millcreek H.S. in 1943 and worked at Penn Brass & Copper until her marriage to Harry H. Bentley in 1956. Doris enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church. Her beloved Harry preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by one brother, William McCamey. Doris and Harry shared a 47 year marriage full of love and laughter and are survived by her three children: John Bentley (Mary) of Harborcreek, Jim Bentley (Erin) of Waterford, Sue Bentley-Corkill (Mike) of Hardyville, VA, She was blessed with eight grandchildren who were a constant source of joy in her life: Daniel and Nicole Colecchia, Aaron Bentley (Danielle), Celeste, Morgan, Jason, Amanda, and Lauren Bentley, several sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service there at 7:00 p.m. Private interment.
