Edwin "Ed" C. Renninger, Jr., age 71, of Millcreek Twp., passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 27, 2014. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 10, 1943, the son of the late Edwin C. and Margaret Krummert Renninger, Sr. He served in the U.S. Marines (Sharp Shooter), Marine Reserves, and the U.S. Navy (Seabees) as a Military Policeman. He was a member of the Millcreek American Legion Post #773 and the VFW Post # 470. Edwin was an avid Steeler fan and enjoyed politics. He was a man of many skills. He could and did speak to people of every kind (a Pittsburgh trait). His proudest role was being a father. Edwin was a marathon runner and a former member of the Erie Runner's Club and enjoyed running at Presque Isle. He completed the Washington, DC Marine Marathon and the Pittsburgh Marathon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hughes Renninger, one son, Edwin C. Renninger, III of Suffolk, VA, one daughter, Samantha A. Renninger of Millcreek Twp., two brothers; Robert Renninger (Linda) of Pittsburgh and Thomas Renninger (Barb) of Edinboro and one sister, Christine Dunbar (Douglas) of Orange County, CA. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Service there at 6:00 p.m. Private interment.
