Rosalind "Rose" Switzer Nelson, age 88, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Manchester Commons. She was born in Sligo, PA on September 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy Platt Myers. She was a member of Grace Church and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and cooking. Rose was preceded in death by her first husband Jack Switzer in 1997, her second husband Melvin Nelson in 2007, one son David Switzer in 1987, two brothers; Dan and William Myers, one sister, Evelyn Bigley, and two infant brothers.
She is survived by two sons; Ray L. Switzer (Erna) of Millcreek, Jack E. Switzer (Mary) of Apex, NC, one brother, Fred Myers (Charlene) of Sligo, PA, three sisters: Joy Wagner of Tionesta, Nell Arner of Rimersburg, PA, Jenny Diddy of Rimersburg, seven grandchildren: Shelly Weidner (Brad) of Millcreek, Sean Switzer (Leighann) of TN, Jenny Lyn Switzer of NC, John Switzer of NC, Jeremy Switzer of NC, Jennifer Marie Sennett, Kevin Switzer, and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for the funeral service. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
