Obituary of Robert Takach

Robert "Bob" A. Takach, age 84, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 5, 1930 the son of the late Steve and Olga Reynolds Takach. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was formerly employed at Faulkner Metal Fabricators and was a member of Ironworker Local 348, a member of American Legion Post 499, and attended Girard United Methodist and Weis Library Methodist Churches. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working on his '32 Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria L. Hamas Takach in 2005, one son Robert C. Takach, one brother Ronald Takach and one stepbrother Don Denevic. Bob is survived by one son, Daniel S. Takach (Vicky L.) of Millcreek, three grandchildren; Daniel R. Takach, Christopher Hartick, Allison Hartick, one brother, Richard Takach of Erie, one sister-in-law, Thelma Denevic of Erie, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. for the Funeral Service. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2115 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508.
