Obituary of Wanda Freeman

Please share a memory of Wanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wanda A. Freeman, of Erie, formerly of Scottdale, PA; a loving mother and grandmother, will be sadly missed by her family, passed into the Lord's loving arms, December 8, 2014 at age 86. She was born in West Overton, PA, on April 12, 1928, the daughter of Roy and Martha Kimmel Weaver. Wanda was a graduate of Scottdale H.S.; class of 1946. She was a 54 year member of the Scottdale Chapter No. 383, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a former member of Scottdale Church of Christ and a current member of Christ United Methodist Church of Scottdale. For many years, she was a member of a card club in Scottdale, playing 500, and enjoying the company of dear friends. She had worked retail and clerical jobs prior to her marriage and then became a homemaker. She enjoyed doing crewel embroidery and sewing; but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Besides her parents and brothers James and R. Wayne Weaver, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles whom she married in 1954. She is survived by her daughter Amy Freeman Pier and her husband Clifford, and two grandchildren; Bradley and Rachel Pier, and siblings: Nevada Phillips, Carl Weaver, Robert Weaver, and Alice Kelley; many nephews, nieces, and friends in Erie and Scottdale. Funeral Services will be conducted in Scottdale, PA, under the direction of the Ferguson Funeral Home. Local arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
