Joanne Claire Rundquist Cappelletty
Erie resident, Joanne Claire Rundquist Cappelletty, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Fairview Manor. Joanne was born on April 29, 1934 in Washington, PA to Carl and Margret Rundquist.
During her childhood, Joanne's family moved to Erie where she attended Tech High School as an Art Major and a member of the drama club. Joanne's artistic talents were numerous, she painted and sketched. She used her talents to keep her home beautiful and uniquely decorated and was an avid seamstress.
Joanne was a member of Presque Isle Sweet Adelines for many years. She sang soprano and used her talents as a seamstress to assist with costumes.
In 1957, Joanne married the love of her life, James R. Cappelletty, in Erie. Together the couple lovingly raised three children.
Along with her husband, Joanne is survived by a son, Richard Cappelletty (Robin) of Erie; two daughters, Debra Heiser (Wayne) of Falconer, NY, Laurie Matson (Ron) of Conewango Valley, NY; five grandchildren: Rae Anne Buck (Craig) of Erie, James Peterson and Danielle Smith (Jacob) of Jamestown, NY, Destiny Matson-Warner (John) of Edinboro, PA, and Brianna Matson of Conewango Valley, NY; six great-grandchildren, a brother, Carl "Sonny" Rundquist (Roseanne) of Erie, numerous in-laws and many friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan E. Cappelletty and a granddaughter, Tralynn Matson.
Visitation will be held at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday for the funeral service at 11:00 a.m conducted by the Rev. David McIlvried. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ryan E. Cappelletty Memorial Scholarship Fund, Advancement Office, Edinboro University, Edinboro, PA 16412.
