Obituary of Joseph Kieffer

Joseph T. Kieffer, Jr., age 84, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born on June 17, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and Marian Sheller Kieffer, Sr. Joe served in the US Navy during the Korean War and then was employed with GTE until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St Paul's United Church of Christ and loved swimming, playing golf at Gospel Hill, Lake Shore, and Lawrence Park where he held memberships. He loved his Mercedes. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Miller Kieffer. Joe is survived by one sister Anne Lepore of Chicago, one daughter, Krista Carneval (John) of Millcreek Twp., one son Brett Kieffer (Debbie) of Thomasville, GA, four grandchildren: Kylene, Ashley, Brett, Andrea, one great- grandson, Preston, and a close friend Sylvia. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Private funeral service and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505 or to the charity of one's choice.
