Obituary of Audrey Wassell

Audrey Jean Wassell was created by the Father before December 23, 1925. She was returned to the Father on February 5, 2015. She was born in Sergent, KY, to the late Sewell and Velda Frady Day.
She grew up in West Brownsville, PA and graduated from Brownsville H.S. in 1943. She married John Wassell, Jr. on August 20, 1945 in West Brownsville. After John's service in the US Navy, they moved to Erie in 1948. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John on January 12, 2009. They were married for 63 years.
Audrey was retired from Erie Technological Products (Erie Resistor) after 30 years. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she sang for many years in the church senior choir. She was a member of Charity Bible Study Group; Senior Good Timers, and had been active in the Youth Club. She volunteered for many years for the Bereavement luncheons at St. Paul's and at Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen for 25 years. She loved to read, cook for others, and write cards for every occasion.
Audrey was also preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Gayl Wassell, her sisters; Leona Yarnevich, Tennie Ramage Salvo; her brothers; Cornelius Chester Day, Thedrow Day, nieces; Evelyn Ramage Weunski, Mildred Bergman, nephew Melvin Yarnevich, also by her beloved companion Shadow.
Audrey is survived by her son, John Neil Wassell and his wife Carole of Harborcreek, her daughter, Karen J. Marzka of Millcreek, and the joy of her life her granddaughter Samantha M. Moore of Harrisburg and her father, James A. Moore of Erie, two nephews; Gerald Ramage, Paul Yarnevich, and will sorely miss her newest companion Callie.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. and are invited to St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for the Funeral Service. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
