Obituary of Michael McCafferty

Michael "Mike" P. McCafferty, age 56, of Millcreek Twp., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 28, 2015 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle against melanoma. He was born in Erie on December 9, 1958 the son of Margaret "Mint" Preston McCafferty of Millcreek and the late Joseph McCafferty. Mike was a 1977 graduate of McDowell H.S. He was a long time employee of Steris Corp. and was currently employed at GE Transportation. He enjoyed entertaining with the family, cars, and spending quiet times at his pool. He was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph McCafferty. Besides his mother, Mike is survived by his loving wife, Gina A. Torok McCafferty, two beloved daughters; Angela A. and Amanda M. McCafferty both of Millcreek, two sisters; Kathy Pianta and Sue Busse both of Millcreek, one brother, Patrick McCafferty of Millcreek, his mother-in-law, Ann J Torok of Millcreek, several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and two special nephews; Michael and Tom McCafferty. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. for the Funeral Service followed by interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2115 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508.
