Obituary of Richard Kocher

Richard "Rich" "Grumpy" Kocher , age 83, of Millcreek Twp. passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Western Reserve Golden Living. He was born on December 8, 1931, the son of the late George and Leone Smith Kocher. He was an Airborne Paratrooper in the Army and later served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was employed at Hammermill Paper Co. and GAF. Rich loved football, baseball, sports, bowling, barbering school, and gardening. Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Kocher in 2004 and a daughter, Jackie Schumaker, in 1983. He is survived by three children: Cindy Kocher, Nancy Dembinski (John), Susan Matos, eleven grandchildren: Tom, Michael, Jennifer, Eric, Jessica, Alex, Dustin, Kelsey, Mark, Christopher, Sara, and several great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial-Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO), 5912 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206; cco@ccojubilee.org.
