Joan Frances Will Dembinski, age 76, of Erie, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at UPMC-Hamot after a long battle with numerous health issues.
She was born in Erie on October 2, 1938, the daughter of the late, Leo and Eleanor Hill Will.
Joan graduated from Academy H.S. in 1956. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Superior Bronze then worked at GTE as a telephone operator and later was employed at the GTE and Erie Federal Credit Unions.
Joan was a member of St. Luke R.C. Church and served on the Altar Rosary Society, a member of the Siebenbuerger Auxiliary Club, and she loved her family; especially her grandsons who called her "Nana" (her proudest and favorite name).
Joan resided at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge. In her early years she enjoyed bocce, bowling leagues, and playing cards with close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Boniface Dembinski after 42 years of marriage.
She was the loving mother of Julia Dembinski Burton (David), and Joseph Dembinski (Doreen (Anderson) Dembinski, and the cherished Nana of Andrew, Casey, and Daniel Burton, and Tyler Dembinski. Also one brother, Jerry Will (Ann), and two sisters; Rose Osterberg and Margaret Roudybush.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and are invited there on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. for prayers followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Luke R.C. Church, 421 East 38th Street, Erie, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
