Obituary of Elaine Kelvington

Elaine J. Bown Kelvington, age 76, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at her residence. She was born on December 28, 1938 in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Humphrey and Stephana Maynosz Bown. Elaine received her Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology and performed high level medical research at Pitt Medical School and Allegheny Hospital. She was employed at the Allergy and Asthma Associates of NWPA working with doctors: Frederick J. Dudenhoefer, Philip E. Gallagher, and Sartaj S. Ahmed. Elaine was a member of St. Peter Cathedral where she sang in the church choir as well as singing in the Erie Philharmonic Choir, and enjoyed music, church, reading (particularly battlegrounds and history), sports, and traveling. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. James R. Kelvington, three children; Susan Heath of NC, Irma Lynch (Bill) of Millcreek, Paul Kelvington (Alison) of Chicago, IL, seven grandchildren: Alex, Zack, and Ashley Heath, Lindsey, Matt, and Jeremy Lynch, Will Kelvington, three great-grandchildren; Destiny, Max, and Finn Heath, one brother, Henry Bown (Anita) of McSheystown, PA, one nephew, one niece and several cousins. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and are invited there on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. for prayers followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Peter Cathedral, 230 West 10th Street, Erie at 10:00 a.m. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
