William "Bill" "Charlie" R. Barron, age 71, of McKean Twp., was called home on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at UPMC-Hamot surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 24, 1943 in Somerset, PA, the son of the late Leondore B. and Martha A. Kramer Barron. Bill received his BS degree from Grove City College in chemistry. He was employed at and retired from AMSCO.
Bill was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Walnut Creek Gun Club, PA Wild Turkey Federation, Western PA Conservancy, and was a toy maker for the underprivileged children with Santa's Helpers. He was an avid hunter, golfer, and woodworker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Judith "Judy" K. Webster Barron, two sons, Craig Barron (Diane Depaolis) of Pittsburgh, Lee Barron (Susan Nicholas) of Forest, VA, three grandsons: Liam, Max, and Asher Barron, one brother James A. Barron of Haver de Grace, MD, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a Homecoming Celebration on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4950 N. Main Street, McKean, PA 16426 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to Santa's Helpers, C/O Erie Press Systems, 1253 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16501-1518.
