Obituary of Vernard Kotz

Vernard H. Kotz, age 94, of Springhill Retirement Center, died Monday, April 20, 2015. He was the son of the late George I. and Florence Presser Kotz. Vern was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Penn State University, and the University of Michigan. He served with the 101st Airborne Division in Europe during World War II. He lived in the Mentor-Kirtland area of Ohio for 44 years, and was an accountant and Director for Solarflo Corporation of Bedford Heights, Ohio for 50 years. In addition to his parents, Vern was preceded in death by two infant sons David and Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ellen M. Kotz; son, Martin V. Kotz (Judy); grandson, Ty Martin Kotz (Catherine) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C; granddaughter, Amber J. Bartley (Brian) of Franklin, TN; and great grand-children, Maya and Tyler Bartley, and Samatha Kotz. Friends may call at The Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory,Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Pastor Fred Ayers of the Walnut Creek Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
