Obituary of Nona Horton

Nona Pikiewicz Horton, age 79, of Fairview, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Manchester Commons. She was born in Erie, PA on July 8, 1935, the daughter of the late Alois and Evelyn Stover Pikiewicz. Nona graduated in 1953 from St. Benedict Academy. She worked as Office Manager at the Erie Club for 31 years, retiring in 1997. She loved spending time with her family and friends and playing cards and board games. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, many senior groups, and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Horton of Manassa, VA and Timothy Horton of Guys Mills, PA; two grandsons, Jason Horton and Ryan Dyne; three great- grandchildren, Michael, Tamara, and Layla, and her adopted granddaughter, Cristie Horton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Horton, a daughter, Tamara Lynn Horton, a grandson, Staff Sgt. Jeremy Horton, killed in Iraq, one brother, James Pikiewicz, and a sister Esther Pikiewicz. Private services were held at the convenience of the family with interment at Calvary Cemetery.
