I just googled Paul's name as my mom mentioned him as someone she remembered from her childhood in Titusville. My mother's father, Aaron Shear,z"l, was the Rabbi in Titusville.I'm sad to learn of his passing. Looks like he led a good life. Wishing his family all the best. Arona, daughter of Helena Shear Cirt, z"l.

Very sorry to learn of Paul's death. My parents, Robert & Joan Dallas were long-time neighbors. Many years ago when I was a child, Paul lived in the apartment building next door I enjoyed listening to him on the piano as I played in our backyard. Paul and B.J. were great people to have in the neighborhood. ------ David H. Dallas

My condolences to the Serrins children and grandchildren. I used to play golf with Paul at TCC. He always had a smile and a laughable comment. I remember Paul making an eagle on #5 which was later dubbed “the shot heard round the world.” I haven’t seen Paul in decades, but would hear from him when a mutual friend would pass. He’s with them now in Heaven. That picture is how I remember Paul. Steve Hampton

To Paul's family members. I was so sorry to read of Paul's passing. I was one year older than Paul and became friends while attending school in Titusville. I was always glad to see Paul in later life. May your memories of Paul remain dear in your heart, I pray that the Lord Jesus would be your God and ease the burden of your grief at this time..

Dear Mitzi, Nina, Deborah, David , RJ and Craig, .
I was a dear friend of your father’s for about 5 years . I am sorry I never got to meet any of you, who he adored and talked about frequently . We shared dinners, day trips and many social events . Paul was nothing but a gentleman , kind, caring and considerate. His infectious laugh and love of life was exhilarating. And how he lived to play the piano ! We enjoyed each other’s company very much . I was very saddened that I could not attend his graveside service , as I had an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic I could not cancel .
We had plans to go to dinner for our Birthdays on the previous Friday . He called to cancel because he wasn’t feeling well . My heart is sad for all of you and you will be in my thoughts and prayers .. May all tour happy memories give you strength, healing, and peace . Rest in Peace Paul . You will be missed . Sincerely,
Kathy Polito

Dear Cousins,
Nannette and I were very sorry to hear of my cousin Paul's passing. Please accept our condolences. He will be missed.
In the 1940s, my mother Cel, sister Ronna, and I would visit Grandpa and Grandma Segall in Oil City. Ronna and I spent a couple of days at Aunt Ruth's house. Paul and I would play baseball with his friends on the school lot behind his house. We played in his yard and would walk to Uncle Dave's store and play around there. One time we were playing with some used tires and got so dirty that we had to take a bath in a wash basin in the backyard at his Grandma Serrins' house, which was next door to the old store. I remember a nun coming to their house to give Paul piano lessons. He practiced a favorite of mine that began "Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning ...". Of course, Ronna and Rita were doing their own thing.
There were many day trips. I have souvenirs from some of them. We ate at Gretchen's kitchen in Jamestown, NY on August 26, 1948. Baked white fish, potatoes, broccoli, and tomato salad cost 90 cents. One day, at Canadohta Lake, another day at Conneaut Lake, and another day at Cook's Forest where Paul and I would go on a hike. I also have a postcard from The Den Restaurant, 9th and Peach, in Erie, so we must have eaten there. Paul also visited us in Baltimore in those days. We would play ball and go "under the hose" among other things. We had a lot of fun in those days. My mother compiled a photo album, which I have, and it includes many pictures from those times.
In later years, our family visited Oil City and Titusville. On one trip, our girls slept at Paul's house. After that we would see Paul at weddings and Bat Mitzvahs. I always enjoyed talking to Paul at these gatherings, especially about the old days and catching up on our lives. He had a good sense of humor and was always upbeat when we met. I am glad that we were cousins and we'll miss him.
