As a teenager and a young man John was a positive influence on my life and easy to talk to. His kindness and friendship to my family and I added to our lives and will always be remembered. My condolences and may God be with your family.

I’m honored to have known John, he was always kind, and happy. It’s always sad to see such great people leave us far too early, his hands and kind soul were summoned to a greater place, he will welcome us with his contagious smile when we meet again. I’ll look for the 7018 flash in the sky. Rest In Peace my friend. My condolences to the Family, Mike and Cheryl.

Linda and Family, I send my condolences to you on the loss of a son, husband, father and friend. When I heard about John it hit me in the heart and I prayed for all of you on such and unexpected loss. The Cilento's had introduced us to this awesome man and family many years ago and we did several fishing excursions. May Jesus keep all of you in his hands in this time as you work things out, what a privilege to know John will be waiting for you all in Heaven. There are so many great things to say about John and his life but you all know that, remember his love for all and his Savior. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit continue to surround you and lift you up. God Bless Dean Bower

John and I were on the Canopus, John in weld shop me in the ndt lab, they did weld repairs and we inspected their work. During down times John was teaching me how to tig. I was from Edinboro and John got out of navy weeks before me and for some reason they didn’t have his dd-214 ready so when I got out 10 November 1980 I brought his dd-214 and handed to him in Waterford few days latter. When John found out I was from Erie County he told me he knew of 12 others from Erie county on the ship. I retire from Erie GE and came across John a few times. I’m sorry for your loss and wish I would keep in touch better
