Obituary of David James Tarbell

David James Tarbell David James Tarbell, 70, a lifelong resident of Erie, PA entered the GREAT GIG IN THE SKY on June 30, 2023. He battled a brief illness of pancreatic cancer as fiercely and loudly as he lived his life. He was preceded in death by his parents William F. and Mildred A. Tarbell. He left the love of his life Nadine M. Loesch Tarbell too soon; just short of their 52nd anniversary on September 4th. He also leaves behind his brother William C. Tarbell and a large extended family. David’s legacy includes his three children: Julie E. Minichelli (Mark), Alison M. Delio (Bryan), Gregory D. Tarbell (Erin Proud), and his grandchildren Julian, Olivia, and Maria Minichelli, and Kacie and Kyle Irwin. David instilled his hard work ethic, his love of life, and his athletic and music accomplishments in all of his children and grandchildren. David was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School where he excelled in academics, athletics, and music. After entering the apprenticeship program at General Electric, he continued his forty-two-year career, and was able to travel and make friends worldwide. Although the husband, father, pops, and friend left us too soon; we celebrate that he is at peace. Although he lost the fight with cancer; he won the game of life. He was so grateful to witness the success of his children and grandchildren. At David’s request there will not be a viewing or service. All arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., Erie. To honor his memory there will be a celebration of life on his birthday, August 4th. The location will be at The Cornerstone Bar and Grill, 809 East 38th Street from 5-8 pm.
