Obituary of James L. Wise

James L. Wise James L. Wise, age 83, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Erie on March 28, 1940, the son of the late James L. and Isabelle May Perkins Wise, Sr. James served in the US Navy from 1957-1961. His careers were extensive and included working at Rusterholtz Bakery, Loblaws, a chemist at Huson Chemical, a health Inspector in WV, Fire Inspector, Observer at Erie Forge and Steel, laborer at Erie Coke, a Science teacher at Northwestern School District, and a Math and Science teacher at General McClane School District for 23 years. James was a member of Erie Bridge Association, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Freedom from Religion Foundation, Erie Hotline, PA Prison Society, and the Upper Room. He enjoyed gardening, Bridge, and sailing. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Legenzoff Wise, one brother William R. Wise, one sister Carlene Louch, and one nephew Robert Wise. He is survived by his wife Annette Wise, children; Geoffrey Wise (Kimberly), Susan Giddings (Jeff), Erika Copeland (Ronald), Daniel Brogdon (Carol), Scott McElroy (Prudence) Harper, Elsie Graham, Michelle Wilkins (Dennis), nine grandchildren one great grandson, two sisters; Patricia Louch, Louanna Wise, and his niece Tonna Lorei. No services are being held. Interment will be at Mitchell Cemetery by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
