Helen Marie (Tyree) Lamb Helen Marie (Tyree) Lamb, of McKean, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members in Edgewater, FL, on Monday, February 26, 2024. She was born in White Sulphur Springs, WV, on August 30, 1938 to the late Joseph Wesley Tyree and Beatrice Elizabeth (Counts) Tyree. Helen moved to Erie, PA as a young child. She graduated from Strong Vincent H.S. As a young girl, she worked at Antone’s Grocery and the Boston Store in sales. In her midlife, she was a companion/caretaker for Donald and Dorothy Leslie, Sr. of Erie for 25 years. Helen valued this time and felt she learned the importance of planning ahead, cooperating with others, and the blessing of kindness. Helen was a dedicated, long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McKean since her marriage in 1957. Helen continued to build her life, marrying Charles Frank Lamb on July 6, 1957. Together they raised 5 children and enjoyed a life together for almost 40 years. She enjoyed raising her family, traveling, exercising, and puttering the day away with great pleasure. Helen remarried in 2009, to Patrick Girvan. Together they enjoyed traveling and spending their summers in Erie and their winters in Edgewater, FL. Helen especially enjoyed socializing and laughing with family and friends, including those from Friendly Shores (FL) and Marica Bryant Kay, a long-time friend who came into Helen’s life at a time when she thought she was too old to make a best friend. Helen will always be remembered for her loving kindness, her unassuming nature, and her constant support of her family and friends as they built their lives and traveled their own journeys. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Charles F. Lamb and Patrick Girvan, one daughter, Tammy Lamb Davies, one sister Mildred Rivas Steg, as well as her in-laws, several cousins, aunts, uncles, and a nephew. Helen is survived by her remaining children: Linda Davis (Roger), Cindy Lamb, Chuck Lamb (Barb), and Corinne Lamb, grandchildren: Josh Davis, Alison Davis (Michael), Seth Davies (Molly), Alyssa Friel, Brittany Coughlin (Trisden), and Nate Dickson, great-grandchildren: Kyler Davis, Landon Brower, Noah Brower, and Ava Friel, siblings: Frances Amann of FL, Barbara Graham of Erie, David Tyree (Cathy) of FL, and many nieces, nephews, Uncle Arnold Counts (Kay) of CA, and stepson, Jimmy Girvan (Tina) of FL.
