Frederick “Fred” J. Kern Frederick “Fred” J. Kern, age 85, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on December 8, 1939, the son of the late James A. and Dorothy Jane Kanash Kern. Fred served in the National Guard and was employed as a CPA at Appletree and Kern. He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, Lakeview Country Club, and St. John’s Lutheran Church. His greatest pleasure was golfing. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Barbara A. Pollock Kern, one daughter Tami Kern of Atlanta, GA, one son Robert M. Kern (Kathleen) of Erie, one grandson Anthony Kern (Carrie) of Erie, one granddaughter Elyse Reinard (Marc) of Erie, two brothers; Thomas A. Kern (Lyn) of Pittsburgh, Gregory J. Kern (Wendy) of Erie, two great grandchildren Kora Kern and Vincent Kern. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 3 pm until the time of service at 7 pm. Private inurnment at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
