Timothy "Tim" J. Stancliff
Timothy "Tim" J. Stancliff, age 61, of Millcreek Twp. died Monday, September 19, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on May 6, 1950 in Erie, the son of the late Olin D. and Pearl J. Wilcox Stancliff.
Tim was a 1970 graduate of McDowell High School and served on the aircraft carrier USS America during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Faulkner Metal Fabricators for ten years and then Millcreek Township for twenty-three years, in the streets department. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, was an Elder, sang in the choir, played guitar in the praise band, and participated on mission trips. He also was a member of the Northwest Beekeeper's Association and Academy of Model Aeronautics. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Stancliff. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Sharon McKay Stancliff, two daughters; Becky Slagle (Kevin), Julie Miller (Andrew), one son, Timothy Neil Stancliff, all of Millcreek, one sister, Donna Fortsch, of Erie, one brother, Olin "Ray" Stancliff (Joanne), of Millcreek, and one brother-in-law, Roger McKay (Mary), of Fairfax, VA.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. and are invited to the funeral service on Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. John Dyke. Private interment.
